Rasmussen Safety Pilot With Fireglass Installation

 1. Make sure your gas is turned off at the Valve and the fireplace is completely cleaned out, with only the 1/2″ gas line exposed. step1-safetypilot
 2. Once your fireplace is completely cleaned out, painting the inside black using a high temp paint adds design appeal. Make sure the inside is scrubed clean using a wire brush prior to painting. This will allow the paint to stick to the walls nicely. Be warned, using high temp black spray paint often causes overspray. We recommend using roll on paint whenever possible. step2-safetypilot
 3. It’s always easier to work when you have all of your tools and parts laid out cleanly in front of you. We recommend staying organized by setting the “H” Burner and Pilot system parts in front of you. step3-safetypilot
 4. Start by adding the batteries to the remote and receiver. The remote holds the small battery and the receiver holds the 4 AA batteries. step4-safetypilot
 5. With the holes of the H Burner facing UP, push the pilot mounting bracket onto the last thread. Add thread sealant and screw on the elbow fitting facing towards the back of the fireplace. Make sure it’s nice and tight. step5-safetypilot
 6. Screw the pilot assembly to the bracket using the provided bolts and nuts. Don’t forget to add the heat shield! Next, connect the short flex line from the “outlet” on the valve system to the inlet on the burner. step6-safetypilot
 7. Connect the flex line that came with your “H” Burner to the “inlet” on the valve system to the gas line in the firepalce. Install the Damper Clamp on the flue. step7-safetypilot
 8. Once everything is connected, carefuly position the “H” Burner, valve system, remote receiver and connection fittings in a way to hide under the fireglass and stay as far away from the heat as possible. Be careful not to kink any of the lines. step8-safetypilot
 9. Turn your gas valve back on. Once your connections are tested and your flame is acceptable, pour your fireglass on the burner. Make sure not to cover the pilot or valve completely with fireglass. If you do, it will smother the pilot flame and cause the unit to malfunction. If you followed these steps accurately, you should only have need for 3-4″ of fireglass which makes your fireplace look absolutely stunning! step9-safetypilot
10. Finally, take a seat on your comfy sofa and simply hit the “On” button on the remote control. When done, hit the “Off” button. Enjoy your new fireplace! step10-safetypilot
