Most Propane (LP) burners need an air mixer. Why? Well, for 1 cubic foot of Natural Gas, you only need 10 cubic feet of oxygen for combustion. However, for every 1 cubic foot of Propane Gas, you need 24 cubic feet of oxygen for combustion!
Since Propane gas requires more oxygen than natural gas, air mixers are essential to achieve proper propane combustion. Install this air mixer before the burner but after the valve. Air mixers reduce the amount of soot caused by pure Propane and allow for better flame quality. Always remember to test your burner before you put away your tools! Not every Propane application needs an air mixer, but it is recommended. Give us a call at (866) 578-8538 if you have any questions.ﾠ
